Cllr Chris Andrews to protest HGV problem at Londonbridge, Sandymount

11 February, 2016 - by Chris Andrews

Cllr. Chris Andrews, Sinn Féin candidate for Dublin Bay South will be holding a protest this evening at Londonbridge, Sandymount against Heavy Goods Vehicles breaking the tonnage limit in the residential area.

Speaking on the issue, Cllr. Andrews said:

“The area around Londonbridge and Bath Avenue has many young families living there.

“Trucks are constantly breaking the tonnage limit in this area which puts the welfare of those living there at risk.

“The noise levels from these vehicles are also causing a disruption to people’s lives.

“I have repeatedly raised this issue with the City Council and An Garda Siochana, but trucks continue to use this road.

“It is not suitable for the use of such vehicles and the tonnage limit must be strictly enforced.

“I have organised a protest with residents for Thursday 11th February at 5pm to again raise this issue with the council.”
