Joined up approach needed to deal with homelessness - Maskey
Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has said a joined-up approach is needed to deal with homelessness.
Mr Maskey, chair of the Social Development committee, said;
"First and foremost I want to offer my sympathies to the family and friends of the man who died in Belfast city centre.
"There is no doubt there is a clear issue with homelessness, which has been highlighted by this latest tragic death.
"I have been in touch with Social Development Minister Maurice, Morrow and Finance Minister Mervyn Storey to discuss how the Executive can respond.
"There also needs to be a link with Belfast City Council and the mayor's office in particular to co-ordinate our approach to homelessness.
"This is a complex problem and requires a joined-up approach and partnership working to find a solution which needs of the homeless."
