Historic 1916 quarter must be saved in full - Mac Donncha

22 September, 2016 - by Mícheál Mac Donncha

Commenting in advance of the first meeting of the Moore Street Consultative Group established by Minister Heather Humphreys, Dublin City Council nominee to the Group and Sinn Féin Cllr Mícheál Mac Donncha said:

“The clear aim of the majority of Dublin City Councillors and the citizens we represent is the preservation in full of the historic 1916 quarter, including the Moore Street terrace, last HQ of the Provisional Government in 1916.

“We need to see this area sensitively preserved and developed as our unique civic and national heritage, with thriving tourism, street trading and commercial activity.”
