"Sinn Féin is standing 183 candidates across 25 Councils. This is the largest number of candidates that we have ever stood for Local Government elections and is evidence of the ongoing growth of the party.
"Over the last five years we led by example on every council that we were elected to in terms of strong local representation, promoting power-sharing, tackling discrimination, bringing forward positive proposals on promoting good community relations and remembrance, innovative solutions to many challenges facing local communities and all-Ireland integration.
"Tomorrow we will set out our priorities for the next five years and ask people to allow us to continue our work."ENDS
