Politics of Fear at Hellfire Club

9 May, 2017 - by Sarah Holland

Cllr Sarah Holland has condemned the use of the politics of fear with regard to the plans for a flagship visitor centre at the Hellfire Club and Masseys Wood.
South Dublin County Council have been working on plans for a visitors centre at the popular Dublin Mountains site for the last number of years.
Cllr Holland said
“This project has the potential to bring a lot of visitors to this part of Dublin.
Those visitors will want to spend a few quid here which will be great for local businesses.  The mountains are a beautiful amenity, and are one of the best reasons for living here.
This centre could open up the mountains to a wider audience, and why shouldn’t their beauty be appreciated?”
Concerns have been raised by councillors, and by members of the public, regarding cycle and bridle path access, traffic access, public transport solutions, infrastructure and flora and fauna concerns.
