26 May, 2005

Sinn Féin Equality and Human Rights Political Manager Chrissie McAuley has said that she will not be intimidated of deflected from advancing the human rights and equality agenda after her home in West Belfast was attacked last night where a number of projectiles were fired at the front window.

Ms McAuley said:

"This latest attack is clearly an attempt at intimidation. Thankfully no one was injured.

"This will not deflect me from working to advance Sinn Féin human rights and equality agenda. The job of work is too important.

"There appears top have been a number of such attacks in West Belfast last night and there is a great deal of anger locally

"For decades Sinn Fein representatives and activists have been targeted, attacked and killed by those who oppose our political agenda and our determination to see through our vision for Irish unity and social and economic justice and equality. Our opponents will not succeed." ENDS
