Clarification needed on delays to children accessing surgery - O'Dowd
Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd is seeking an urgent meeting with the Chief Executive of the Southern Health and Social Care Trusts after reports of delays in children accessing surgery at Craigavon Hospital.
Mr O'Dowd said :
"Affected children and their parents are quite rightly worried and annoyed by these delays.
"I will be seeking clarification as to why these delays have arose and what is being done to rectify the situation.
"I will also be raising the issue of children's cardiac services with reports of significant delays in out-patient appointments.
"A parent has reported to me a five year delay in an appointment. When brought to the attention of the Trust the parent was informed that her daughter may have to wait a further three years."
