Sinn Féin meet PSNI over Dunmurry Manor

29 June, 2018 - by Colm Gildernew

Sinn Féin's Colm Gildernew and Pat Sheehan met today with PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Stephen Martin and senior officers to discuss the Commissioner for Older People (COPNI) report into Dunmurry Manor Care Home.

Commenting after the meeting Sinn Féin's Spokesperson for Carers Mr Gildernew said: "This morning's meeting was a useful engagement with the PSNI.

"We discussed their role in investigating cases relating to Dunmurry Manor and their response to the Commissioner's report which revealed unacceptable treatment of vulnerable adults.

"The PSNI informed us they have met with Older Person's Commissioner Eddie Lynch since the publication of the report.

"The PSNI have asked the Commissioner to review all evidence relating to their investigation into Dunmurry Manor to establish whether there is any evidence of criminal conduct which should be forwarded to the PSNI.

"The PSNI will also carry out their own review of the Commissioner's report."
