Joint Statement from the All Party Group on Housing
We are facing into a homelessness crisis across the north.
The All Party Group on Housing today met with the Chief Executive of the Housing Executive (Tuesday 04 December).
The information they provided to the All Party Group is stark and of particular concern as winter sets in.
In total, 18,000 people presented as homeless across the north. Meanwhile, temporary accommodation for homeless people is running at full capacity.
We are facing into a homelessness crisis in the knowledge that many people could be forced to sleep on our streets.
The All Party Group on Housing is demanding that the Housing Executive resist any pressure to cut support services for people who are homeless.
