‘PSNI need to urgently tackle loyalist paramilitary crime’ - McMullan
Sinn Féin's Oliver McMullan has said the PSNI need to tackle loyalist paramilitary crime as a matter of urgency.
Oliver McMullan said:
"It appears that loyalist paramilitary gangs were behind the murder of a man in Glenwherry who was shot dead in his home.
"This is the latest in a series of killings carried out by loyalist paramilitary gangs throughout Antrim and further afield.
"There has also been widespread allegations of money laundering, intimidation, racketeering and involvement in the drug trade all connected to loyalist paramilitaries.
"These groups need to disband and get off the back of the community.
"This ongoing paramilitary criminality is a scourge on our society and needs to be tackled urgently by the PSNI.
"I will be contacting the PSNI urgently to discuss their response to this ongoing criminal activity.
