Win-win for hockey and the community in Stepaside - Cllr Chris Curran

4 March, 2019 - by Chris Curran

Sinn Féin Councillor for Sandyford Glencullen, Chris Curran, has said he is delighted that a win win situation will be achieved between Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and the local Rosemont Secondary school, in relation to the shared use of the school's hockey pitch.

Cllr Curran said:

"The agreement relates to the council's Masterplan for Fernhill Gardens where vehicular access to the gardens will be required from the school's land on the Enniskerry Road, to the new car parks inside the park.

"As part of that plan the hockey pitch in the private school next door will be resurfaced.

"Tonight I sought assurances that because public money is being used, that the surface will be multi-purpose, available to the school during the day and available to the community out of school hours.

"The council officials agreed to this. I would also like to thank the trustees of the school for their help, in creating this win win situation for everyone."
