'Bradley has no excuse on HIA compensation’ – Dillon

Sinn Féin Victims and Legacy spokesperson Linda Dillon has welcomed today’s cross-party agreement supporting compensation for victims of historical institutional abuse.The Mid-Ulster MLA was speaking after convening a meeting of the six main parties to agree a joint approach to the British Secretary of State Karen Bradley.She commented: “I called today’s meeting in order to pursue a joint approach to the British Secretary of State in order to remove any blockage to her taking forward legislation for Victims and Survivors of historical institutional abuse.“I am pleased at the clear consensus that was evident at that meeting and all parties have agreed to send a joint letter to Karen Bradley addressing the issues which she claimed she needed answered.“There is now no excuse for any further stalling.“Karen Bradley should now immediately put in place the required legal and financial framework to assist victims and survivors.”
