Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD raises Lunney attack with Garda Commissioner
Sinn Féin TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin, who chairs the Oireachtas Committee on Justice and Equality, raised the matter of the abduction and “horrific attack” last evening on Mr. Kevin Lunney in Co. Fermanagh in the course of today’s meeting of the Justice Committee with the Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.
Addressing Commissioner Harris directly, Deputy Ó Caoláin said:
“The abduction and attack on Kevin Lunney, Director and Chief Operations Officer of Quinn Industrial Holdings is an outrage deserving of wholehearted condemnation.
“The people responsible need to be quickly identified and brought before the courts in either jurisdiction where the full rigours of the law should apply.
“I urge anyone with any information regarding this horrific attack to come forward and co-operate with either the PSNI or An Garda Síochána. I trust that every effort will be employed to bring those responsible to justice.
“I take this opportunity as Chairperson of the Oireachtas Committee on Justice and Equality to extend on my own behalf and on behalf of my colleague members of this Committee a very sincere get well wish to Kevin and extend our solidarity and good wishes to his wife and children and to his work colleagues at Quinn Industrial Holdings.”
