Fáilte roimh Gaelscoileanna nua i mBaile Átha Cliath – Denise Mitchell TD agus Chris Andrews TD

Tá fáilte curtha ag Teachtaí Dála Shinn Féin Denise Mistéil agus Chris Mac Aindrias roimh fhógra na Roinne Oideachais leis an dá phátrúnacht ar dhá Ghaelscoil nua luaite ann. Tá na scoileanna le hoscailt mí Mheán an Fhómhair 2021.

Dúirt Teachta Andrews:

“Tá an Ghaeilge sa Dáilcheantar seo ag dul ó neart go neart le tréimhse de bhlianta. Léiríonn an taighde idirnáisiúnta na buntáistí do pháistí a ghabhann leis an tumoideachas.

“Bronntanas dár bpáistí ab ea an dátheangachas. Tugann an Gaeloideachas deis dár bpáistí a gcultúr a shealbhú arís. Fáiltím roimh an chinneadh agus pátrúnacht an Fhorais de réir mar a oibríonn siad leis an éileamh ar an nGaeloideachas a shásamh.”

Dúirt Teachta Mitchell:

“Cuireann an fógra go mbunófar Gaelscoil nua faoi cheantar Domhnach Míde agus Binn Eadair go mór leis an teanga inár gceantar. Is léiriú ar mhisneach na dtuismitheoirí mar a chuireann siad agus a bpáistí tú lena n-aistear leis an nGaeloideachas.

“D’aontaigh an rialtas reatha ina gclár rialtais go dtabharfadh siad faoi plean don Ghaeloideachas a dhréachtú. Tá Sinn Féin ag iarraidh go gcuirfear tús leis an phróiseas gan mhoill.

“Tá mo pháistí féin ar an nGaeloideachas agus tá buntáistí an dátheangachais soiléir. Táim ag súil go mór a bheith ag tacú leis an scoil amach anseo.”

New Gaelscoileanna in Dublin welcomed – Denise Mitchell TD agus Chris Andrews TD

Sinn Féin Teachtaí Dála Denise Mitchell and Chris Andrews have welcomed the Department of Education’s announcement of the Patronage of two new Gaelscoileanna in Dublin that are to open their doors in September 2021.

Teachta Andrews said:

“The Irish Language in Dublin Bay South continues to grow from strength to strength. The international research is clear on the benefits of Immersion Education for children.

“Bilingualism is a gift for our young people. Irish Medium Education also provides our young people with the opportunity to reclaim their culture. I welcome the decision and patronage of an Foras Patrúnachta as they work to meet the ever-growing demand for Irish Medium Education.”

Teachta Mitchell said:

“The announcement of a Gaelscoil for the Donaghmeade and Howth area is a massive boost to the language in our area. It is also a testament to the faith of parents as they begin their journey with Irish Medium Education.

“In the Government’s programme for Government, they committed to the drafting of a policy for Irish Medium Education. Sinn Féin are keen for that process to begin without haste.

“My own children are going through Irish Medium Education and the benefits of bilingualism are clear to see. I look forward to working with our new school when they open.”
