Mid & East Antrim chief executive has serious questions to answer – McGuigan

Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan has said the Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Council has serious questions to answer following the emergence of further correspondence relating to the decision to withdraw workers from the Port of Larne.

Philip McGuigan said:

“A newly emerged letter from the Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Council, Anne Donaghy, to Agriculture Minister, Edwin Poots, raises further questions which need answered.

“Once again, if accurate, this letter appears to be at odds with the testimony given at a Stormont committee last week.

“If accurate then her position is surely now untenable.

“We need to see the Chief Executive coming back to the committee and urgently clarifying the position.

“She also needs to answer the questions arising from this and other letters which have appeared in the media.

“Rather than a drip feed of information which leads to more questions than answers we need to see clarity.”
