Health Minister should review hospital visiting rules – Ní Chuilín

Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín has called on the Health Minister to urgently review restrictions on hospital visits in the context of the improved public health situation.

The North Belfast MLA said:

“It is important that the Department of Health urgently reviews restrictions, particularly on partners accompanying expectant mothers to maternity appointments during labour and in the maternity wards.

“As wider society begins to cautiously reopen, it is important that the Minister begins to ease visiting restrictions as soon as it is safe to do so.

“The importance of the support of partners and families cannot be overstated. The Health Minister needs to ensure restrictions are unlocked safely to ensure women have this vital support. Any delay in doing so is simply not good enough.”
