Sinn Féin launch petition to give 16 and 17 year-olds the High Street Voucher

Sinn Féin MLA Pádraig Delargy has said the High Street Voucher should be extended to include 16 and 17 year-olds.

Speaking after launching an online petition, the Foyle MLA said:

“The £100 High Street Voucher scheme should be extended to include young people at 16 and 17.

“It’s unfair that they have been excluded given the fact they are eligible to work, pay tax and contribute to our economy like everyone else.

“That’s why I have launched a petition urging the DUP Economy Minister to give these young people the High Street Voucher to play their part in boosting our economy.

“I would urge people sign this petition and keep the pressure on the Minister to reverse the decision to exclude them: https://www.change.org/p/northern-ireland-assembly-i-m-calling-on-the-economy-minister-to-extend-the-high-street-voucher-to-16-17-year-olds
