Gerry Adams meets family of Charlie Armstrong

6 December, 2006

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP today met the family of Charlie Armstrong, the Crossmaglen man who went missing in 1981.

The IRA has denied any involvement in his disappearance. Mr. Adams said:

"I want to repeat my call for anyone with information about Charlie Armstrong to bring it forward to me, to the family or to any other agency they have confidence in.

"Sinn Féin is continuing with our efforts to bring closure for those families whose loved ones were killed and their bodies secretly buried by the IRA in the 1970s.

"Christmas is a particularly difficult time for all the families and our thoughts and prayers are with them." ENDS
