Newry Armagh MP concerned after Camlough pensioner's home robbed again
Sinn Féin Newry Armagh MP Conor Murphy has spoken of his concern and disgust after
learning that the home of a 90-year-old Camlough pensioner, who suffered the
trauma of being robbed twice in the one week last October, had been broken
Mr Murphy said:
"The man, fortunately, was not in his home when it was broken into. I believe this break-in is the second such attempt at entering his home, within a week.
"It is essential that those engaged in this type of horrendous crime are apprehended."
The Newry Armagh MP added:
"I am aware that people from the local community have responded to the very clear call from Gerry Adams to co-operate with the police in tackling these crimes against our citizens. In fact it was such a call that alerted police to this latest incident.
"The PSNI need now to demonstrate, very clearly, that such co-operation will be put to an effective use in taking these criminals off the streets." ENDS
