Philip McGuigan is the party spokesperson on the Environment and Climate action and MLA for the Constituency of North Antrim.

He is currently the vice chair of the Assembly’s Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs committee and also sits on the Assembly’s Finance Committee. 

Philip is originally from Swatragh but has lived in Dunloy, County Antrim for over 20 years. 

Philip is a GAA enthusiast and is a member of his local Dunloy GAA club. He has 2 All Ireland Hogan Cup medals and various Ulster medals from his playing days with St. Pat’s Maghera as well as a County minor title with Swatragh. 

He is a keen cyclist and runner. Philip has 4 children and one grandchild. 

He was first elected to Ballymoney Council in 2001 and the Assembly in 2003. He was also elected to Causeway Coast & Glens Council before re-entering the Assembly in 2016.
