Councillor Séamas McGrattan was co-opted onto Dublin City Council in January 2008 and was re-elected in both the 2009 and 2014 local elections. He represents the new Cabra/Finglas ward. He has been a member of Sinn Féin since 2001 and is the Sinn Féin group leader on Dublin City Council.

Séamas is heavily involved in his local community and is on the Board of Cabra for Youth, The Cabra Community Policing Forum and the Cabra/Finglas Local Drugs Task Force. He is also Secretary of Naomh Fionnbarra GAA Club.

 He has been on the Arts, Culture and Leisure Strategic Policy Committee of Dublin City Council since he was first elected and has been the Chair of the Council’s Sports Committee from 2011 until the present Day. He is also a member of the Protocol and Commemorative Naming Committee and has recently been elected Chair of the North West Area Joint Policing Committee.
