Planning for Irish Unity

Unlocking the full potential of every community on the island by delivering Irish Unity.

It is time to actively plan for Irish Unity. In Government, Sinn Féin would protect the Good Friday Agreement.

We would ensure its outstanding provisions are implemented as endorsed and overwhelmingly supported by the vast majority of people on this island, North and South.

We will ensure the conversation about Irish Unity will be based on mutual respect and inclusivity for all communities on this island.

Sinn Féin solutions:

Defend the Good Friday Agreement

Sinn Féin would ensure the Good Friday Agreement’s outstanding provisions are implemented as endorsed and overwhelmingly supported by the vast majority of people on this island, North and South.

Make the economic case for Irish Unity

Sinn Féin will seek to build an all-Ireland economy that serves our society. We will also continue to advance the economic case for Irish Unity and the Unity Dividend, which a growing number of economists believe will transpire.

Create all-Ireland forum

Sinn Féin would ensure that no voice or person is excluded from this debate on Irish Unity. We would set up an all-Ireland civic forum underpinned by the values of mutual respect and inclusivity.

Establish Joint Oireachtas Committee to create Irish Unity White Paper

It is reckless not to plan for the end of partition at this time. Sinn Féin would establish an all-party Joint Oireachtas Committee on Irish Unity, tasked with the creation of a white paper on Irish Unity.

Hold a referendum on Irish Unity

Sinn Féin is committed to holding a referendum to deliver Irish Unity.
