Fáiltíonn Seán Ó Loinsigh CTR roimh mhaoiniú breise don Tionscadal Logainmneacha ag Ollscoil na Ríona, Béal Feirste.

Fáiltím roimh an nuacht go bhfuil síneadh le déanamh ar mhaoiniú an Tionscadail Logainmneacha ag Ollscoil na Ríona ag an Aire Airgeadais Conchúr Ó Murchú.

“Tá ról ar leith ag an tionscadal trí thaighde agus athbheochan a dhéanamh ar oidhreacht ár mbailte fearann.

“Is tábhachtach go n-inseofaí an oidhreacht chomh maith leis an chur chun cinn de stair na teangaidh inár sochaí.

“Tá an Roinn tiománta a bheith ag amharc chun tosaigh agus maoiniú fadtréimhseach an tionscadail a chinntiú.”

Lynch welcomes extra funding for place-name project 

Sinn Féin MLA Seán Lynch has welcomed extra funding for the Gaeilge Place-names project at Queen’s University, Belfast.

The Fermanagh South Tyrone MLA said:

“I welcome news that funding for the Gaeilge place-name project at Queen’s University has been extended by Finance Minister Conor Murphy. 

“This project plays a valuable role in researching and revitalising Irish cultural heritage and the history of our townland names.

“It’s important that this story is told, while also promoting the history of the ever-growing Irish language within our society.

“The Department is committed to looking at the long-term funding of this important project.”
