Kelly urges PSNI to provide transparency and answers to Noah Donohoe’s mum

Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly has again urged the PSNI Chief Constable to withdraw his application to redact or hold back information from Noah Donohoe’s mother about the investigation into her son’s death.

The North Belfast MLA and member of the Policing Board said:

”On the 2nd November last year at a public meeting of the Policing Board, I called on the PSNI Chief Constable to withdraw his application to redact or hold back information from Noah Donohoe’s mother about the investigation into her son’s death.

”Four months later and after a number of interventions by political representatives, the PSNI are still pursuing that course of action.

”That is despite a petition, now sitting at over 280,000 signatures in support of Noah’s mother, Fiona’s, right to have the existing information about her 14-year-old son’s terrible death.

”I have written again to the Chief Constable asking him to withdraw his application for secrecy around four important files. I will also be raising it again in next week’s Policing Board meeting.

”Noah’s mother is entitled to transparency and answers, not secrecy and cover-up.”
