Sinn Féin meet with Vice Chancellors over student well-being

2 October, 2019 - by Caoimhe Archibald

Sinn Féin MLAs Caoimhe Archibald and Órlaithí Flynn met with the Vice Chancellors of Queen's University and Ulster University to discuss student well-being.

Caoimhe Archibald said:

"We had a very useful and constructive discussion with the Vice Chancellors and the university well-being staff regarding the provision of mental health support for students and student well-being in general.

"It is important that a culture of help seeking is promoted and that students know where to turn for support when needed.

"We also discussed the recent anti-social behaviour in the Holylands and the negative impact this has on the local residents and wider community.

"There is a need for a multi partner approach to address this and a forum for this, which works towards long term solutions in the best interests of the entire community in the area."
