Spokesperson on Addiction, Recovery and Wellbeing

Thomas Gould is the Sinn Féin spokesperson on Addiction, Recovery and Wellbeing and TD for the constituency of Cork North Central. He is a proud republican and he was the first ever TD elected from Knocknaheeny in Cork.

Thomas served on Cork City Council for over 11 years before being elected as a TD in 2020. He championed the rights of ordinary people in the Council and has continued to do so in the Dáil.

Keen to begin work on solving the housing crisis, Thomas sits on the Housing Committee alongside Sinn Féin spokesperson on Housing Eoin Ó Broin. He consistently raises issues of social housing waiting lists, vacancies, dereliction and people being locked out of home ownership.

As Sinn Féin spokesperson on Addiction, Recovery and Wellbeing Thomas works to give a voice to individuals and communities often unheard.

Thomas is Chairman of his local GAA club, St Vincent’s, and also the camogie club’s Development Officer. Thomas lives in the Guarranbraher area of Cork with his wife Michelle and their two daughters. He is proud to continue to represent the community he grew up in.
